Since our priority is to support the ecological design and the revival of authentic Ukrainian crafts, we tell stories born of paper and light. This story is called Mavka.
According to ancient beliefs, Mavkas are magical creatures from the forest. They were always depicted as beautiful girls with long green hair. These souls wandered the mountains, planted flowers, and danced on the meadows in the dark under the moonlight. Inspired by folk myths, we took this image as the basis of our new project, focusing on two of its features. Our “Mavkas,” like their ancestors, have a connection with the forest and gain strength with the sunset: they are traditionally made of recycled paper and create cozy lighting at night.
Mavka is a collection of minimalist directional pendant lights. The sophisticated plasticity of the objects makes them absolutely alive. The texture of the surface, close to the bark of a tree, gives a pleasant tactile sensation to the touch. The colors of the forest transform the space into a natural environment. “Mavka” will decorate every home and fill it with its kind legends.
USAGE AND LIGHTING
Pendant lamp MAVKA is a minimalistic directional light lamp that will be the perfect solution for lighting a bedside area or a bar counter.
Combining different lamps from the MAVKA collection can achieve the most incomparable effect in sculptural lighting. The elegant simplicity of this lamp, the angle of the light direction and texture will breathe life and add dynamics to any space. The advantage of the hanging lamp MAVKA is the certainty of the light direction, which creates a clear accent on the desired object or emphasizes spectacular textures in the interior.
Pendant lamp collection MAVKA includes three different types of hanging lamps: MAVKA L with a straight lampshade length 35 cm, MAVKA 35 L of the same length with bend at an angle of 35 degrees, and a smaller version with straight lampshade with the length 25 cm. Such a variety of forms and curves creates a dynamic composition, which allows to create the most effective solution for accent lighting.
CUSTOMIZATION AND COLORING OPTIONS
With YALANZHI OBJECTS there is an option to customize the color of the lamp. The full list of available colors can be found on our website in the section devoted to colors.
We use high-quality paints from a British manufacturer Little Greene. They are wearproof, almost unaffected by the environment and designed specifically to emphasize particular interior design solutions.
Also the lamp can be made in any color of RAL and NCS palette . Both the outer and inner surfaces of the lampshade can be painted in different colors, which will perfectly fit into any room design.
Wires and fittings colors can also be customized. All available options are represented in our palette in the same section for your convenience.
The lamp wire standard length is 150 cm, but it can be adjusted according to the customer’s request.

MATERIAL
Biocomposite Zemletsvit (“earth blooming”) is used to create pendant lamp MAVKA. Being a unique material, developed by Julia and Yevhen Melnychenko, it has a particular composition that brings an unparalleled texture to this modern chandelier. Zemletsvit is a completely natural material, which surprises with its stability and durability. It consists of an ecological mixture of cellulose, sawdust and fine-grained mineral, hemp fibers, glue and an admixture of Ukrainian soil. By using Zemletsvit YALANZHI OBJECTS guarantees lamp’s strength and reliability. This material is hard as wood, yet flexible as plastic. While drying, cellulose fibers create almost living patterns on the surface. Due to the naturalness of the components, the material is warm to the touch, which is one of its unique features. Zemletsvit will complement your interior with a special natural texture.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning the lamp, make sure that it is disconnected from the power source.
The secrets of chandelier care are very simple: it is enough to regularly wipe the surface of the lamp with a dry soft cloth.
For deeper cleaning, use a warm soapy solution and a damp cloth, while avoiding aggressive detergents. Do not use hard sponges and abrasive materials to avoid damaging the textured surface of the product.
Care for lighting devices is as important as for any other interior items. Should a lamp be treated carefully, it will not lose its beautiful appearance for years and decades.
